Buttermilk Sky will open its first pie shop in Texas, when Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop of Colleyville, Texas starts baking its award-winning handmade pies on Friday, April 8.
“Like so many people, we grew up with mothers and grandmothers who baked goodies for holidays, gatherings and carefree afternoons. Days like those hold some of our fondest memories, and we hope that our made-from-scratch pies provide our customers with the chance to step back in time,” explains Kim Murray, co-owner of the Colleyville shop. “We chose Colleyville because of its southern charm which reminds us of the towns where we grew up and makes it a perfect location for our pie shop.”
In addition to pies, Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop of Colleyville will offer ice cream, thumbprint cookies, coffee, tea, milk and bottled beverages. Artisan pantry and kitchen items, including rolling pins, pie servers, aprons, cookbooks, and candles will also be available for purchase.
As with each Buttermilk Sky location, every month, through partnership with special organizations in the community, a distinct pie flavor will be offered through Buttermilk Sky’s “Pie It Forward” program, with a portion of proceeds from the sale of the pie donated to that organization. “Being involved in our community is very important to us. Our “Pie It Forward” program is just one way we’re involved, and allows us to partner with local organizations that are working hard every day to make a difference in our community,” said Katie Hensarling, co-owner of the Colleyville location.
Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop founder Meredith Layton stated, “We are excited about the shop in Colleyville and the addition of the Murrays and the Hensarlings to our Buttermilk Sky family. We look forward to sharing the taste of southern tradition with the great state of Texas.”
